Abstract
The textile industry is the second most polluting planet, after the oil industry. This fact has motivated ecodesign strategies or sustainable design, both in small businesses and in large multinationals. It is about incorporating an innovative design, in order to close the life cycle of clothing and achieve environmental impact reduction, to extend the usefulness of products, as an option to reduce the enormous amount of resources used. Cuba is no stranger to this situation. That is why the Decorarte cooperative has launched the new children's brand Gabi & Sofi, a project aimed at creating, in children and parents, an awareness of responsible consumption and respect for the environment. This eco-design strategy also aims to help motivate other Cuban companies to assume a change in attitude towards their productions.
