Abstract
Under the motto Design with Meaning, the VIII International Design Congress was held at the Convention Palace in Havana, Cuba, from June 16 to 18, 2015. 336 participants representing 17 countries gathered at the event. The priority in the social, the balance between the collective and the individual, the need to design with commitment and wisdom, with feeling and common sense, was in the spirit of the participants. Among the attending personalities, keynote lectures have been selected to be published in this issue that closes the year. The Editorial Committee thanks Gui Bonsiepe and Víctor Margolín for the kindness of offering us their talks for our magazine. It is also gratifying that the original and review articles on this occasion have been prepared by young teachers, which shows that research is gaining followers among design professionals, in whose hands, in addition to carrying out projects with common sense, will be the imperative need to build - paraphrasing Gui Bonsiepe - a design discourse.
