Abstract
A phrase from Martí perpetuated at the entrance to our ISDi says: “This is how you create, by loving.” And the magazine that I have the pleasure of presenting is a labor of love, an idea longed for in time, which required many wills and several creative hands from the Cuban University of Design for the first issue of A3manos to see the light today. Concreting this publication is a gift for those who expect from Design a significant contribution to human improvement and a tribute to whoever was its main defender and promoter, our long-time rector, José Pepe Cuendias. A3manos will constitute a space for dialogue for everyone; Its very name contains that spirit of teamwork, inclusion and participation with which we are identified. It is, from now on, a tool for those who learn, a weapon for those who teach and an excellent opportunity to leave a historical record of our material culture, present new projects, share experiences and deliver knowledge. With a semiannual frequency and in digital format, this publication aims to trap the reader in that exciting world of creating and building a more habitable, intelligible environment and in sustainable harmony with the necessary development. We hope that along with the enjoyment of well-designed reading, you will also find an opportunity to contrast opinions and points of view, without concluding any topic, promoting exchange and theoretical contribution, from divergent and flexible positions, consistent with a scenario of conceptual diversity in growth, where debate with ethical responsibility, integrative vision, relevant discourse and committed action is urgent. There is much left to write and say: the call is open and it is now time to feed its pages, expand its content, explore new edges and approaches, covering different scenarios of Culture, Training, Society, Industry and the Economy, among others. others. A3manos already exists and is a space open to all those who live Design.
