Didactic strategy in English Language Learning and Assessment at the High Institute of Design

Abstract
The main aims of this work is to explain not only some aspects of the new strategy of teaching English in our university but also to present some practical results gotten as a result of implementing this new policy, since our institute has been involved in new demands of Cuban University to improve the language teaching- learning process in order to graduate competent professionals. It becomes a strategic aim to train integrated future designers in our country.
Use of different ways of learning has been taken into account personally indulgent to the students, such as, incorporation of social- cultural components in association with cognitive and affective aspects.
For this proposal some essential theoretical and methodological concepts have been taken into account, based on the European Common Frame of Reference of Languages.
