The Cuban House, Possible Repurposing and Redesign
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
The juncture of the renovation of past economic postulates in today?s Cuban society is acting as a catalyzer of phenomena associated to the change in visual image required by dwelling spaces that are being repurposed with private funding, some-thing unheard of in a very long time. The author briefly analyzes the role of the designer as a contributor to theme and aesthetic distinction, as well as the general conditions that make possible the activity of interior design in our specific environment.
This work is an early approach to the phenomenon that is the repurposing of existing spaces from their new usage value and aesthetic qualification. It takes into account the con-text of necessary cohabitation in all new proposals, embedded into compact preexisting urban segments, and their intrinsic plastic values legitimized by popular tradition.
