Abstract

The methodological work is presented to improve three clays from Nicaragua, used in the Ceramics Workshop of the Product Design Degree of the Polytechnic University of Nicaragua, UPOLI, these clays are named black clay, red clay and white clay, with all of them Compounds will be formulated to improve the characteristics of granulometry, plasticity, shrinkage on drying and at sintering temperature.


White clay has the characteristics of being a kaolinite, so in particular an investigation will be carried out to determine its use in medium and high temperatures.


As a result of applications, of this research, it is possible to manufacture ceramic objects with recycled glass as a surface finish.
